A special project connecting the School of Acting “Mariangela Melato” of the Teatro Nazionale in Genoa and the National Academy of Dramatic Arts “Silvio D’Amico” in Rome, where playwright and actor Pino Petruzzelli led a workshop on theatrical writing.
Inspired by Sophocles’ Oedipus and Aeschylus’ Seven at Thebes, the students of the Academy “Silvio D’Amico” have written short monologues, in which some characters from the two tragedies speak, who tell their story from a different perspective. The students of the Genoa School of Acting will once again give voice to these texts.
Maratona Oedipo consists of two performances, Tuesday 30 March and Thursday 1° April (at 6 pm) and a meeting on Wednesday 31 March (at 11 am) in which spectators of the two evenings will be able to discuss the themes of the texts presented with the protagonists.
